In order to promote and enforce the right for children with disabilities to access to education, and thus to contribute to the development of a quality inclusive educational system in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) province, Handicap International will implement Inclusive Education project in 3 sub districts of Kupang. The project will start from August 1, 2014. To support this project, Handicap International is looking for the following position for its office in Kupang, NTT:
Position Title : Project Officer
Location : Kupang, NTT
Closing date : July 10, 2014
TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the line management of the Project Manager, the Project Officer will ensure the successful implementation of the Inclusive Education project in Kupang district. The tasks among other things are:
- To organize information and training sessions for parents, teachers and authorities
- To provide hands on support to Partners trainers
- To organize with partners and participate in assessment on Inclusive education and access to school for Children With Disabilities
- To conduct workshop, and sensitization activities
- To facilitate training, workshop and awareness activities.
- To accompany and monitor activities in schools
- To organize and support the development of IEC activities by partners
Essential:
• S1
• Minimum of 2 years working on education issues
• Having skill and experience to manage trainings, seminars, workshops
• Having experience working with communities and local authorities
Desired:
• S1 in any discipline related to the profile
• Having knowledge of Inclusive Education
• Having knowledge of disability inclusion
• Having experience working with persons with disability
