International Rescue Committee Job Vacancy: Senior Sub Grants Manager - Turkey

SCOPE
Under the supervision of the Grants Coordinator, the Senior Grants The manager will provide support in grants administration, reporting, and the maintenance of grants files across multiple programs. The Senior Sub Grants Manager will also work closely with the IRC’s partners, coordinating and supporting the sub granting process and the writing and preparation of program and financial reports. Furthermore, he/she will liaise with all program and operational units of IRC Turkey and the regional units at IRC’s NY headquarters and IRC London.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Grants administration
  • Ensure that all IRC grants or contracts held by programs and projects in Turkey are well tracked and administered; maintain comprehensive paper and electronic grant files and take responsibility for the IRC’s online proposal tracking tool.
  • Ensure that the management of all IRC grants or contracts held is compliant with IRC policy and donor requirements. This includes maintaining up to date grants calendars and facilitating grant opening, closing, and review meetings.
  • Support the timely and accurate reporting to private and governmental donors.
  • Assist the Grants Coordinator in compiling grants information for IRC’s regional and NY offices.
  • Support the monitoring of activities under grants, sub-grants, and contracts (including gathering and analysis of performance data).
Partner Support
  • Work with sector coordinators to support the IRC’s Syrian partners in the preparation of grant proposals, including budgets and budget narratives. This will include reviewing submitted documents and recommendations for revisions. This will also include mentoring and on-the-job training.
  • Leverage the expertise of diverse IRC departments such as M&E and finance in order to fully meet the technical assistance needs of the partners.
  • Review subgrant documentation and partner report submissions to ensure full compliance with donor regulations.
Budget Development and Financial Management
  • Because budget development and financial reporting is one of the areas where partners require the most support, this will be an important component of the position.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline preferred. 
  • Must be highly organized, a fast learner, and possess time management skills.
  • At least 4 years experience of work with a humanitarian or development agency 
  • Must be able to function effectively in a complex work environment, set appropriate priorities and deal effectively with numerous simultaneous requirements 
  • Excellent English language communication skills (written and verbal): able to communicate concisely and with impact. Arabic preferred; effective communication with partners is essential.
  • Able to function in an organizational environment involving a diversity of cultures, languages, and interests, and agendas. 
  • Good at the role of facilitator of learning and a team player in solving problems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The position will be based in Antakya, Turkey, and is an unaccompanied post. The IRC’s security phase for Antakya is currently yellow.
