Job Summary:
Our Client is a dynamic and successful multi-disciplinary consultancy delivering environmental consultancy management services to public and private sector clients. As a geo-environmental engineer in the Bristol team, you will have the opportunity to undertake desk studies, ground investigations, geotechnical and geo-environmental assessment, and land remediation / validation for a variety of projects throughout the UK. As the team engineer you will provide crucial support to the Senior Engineers and Associates in the delivery of projects and also work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary engineering team, interacting closely with geotechnical and contaminated land teams.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
The Geo-environmental Engineer will;
  • Design geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations;
  • Prepare technical specifications;
  • Undertake desk studies/ground investigations/ validation surveys on site;
  • Schedule chemical and laboratory testing;
  • Prepare reports including desk studies, interpretive reporting, remediation strategies, validation reporting and other technical documents;
  • Liaise with Clients, Contractors or Statutory Authorities
  • Undertake generic risk assessments for human health, controlled waters and gas;
  • Provide technical advice to Civil and Structures team on geo-environmental and geotechnical issues;
  • Assist with fee bids and tender assessments.
Qualifications / Experience:
The Geo-environmental Engineer will have;
  • A Degree (Geology or related degree)
  • Desire to work both in office and on-site environments;
  • Full UK Driving Licence;
  • Proven experience in the geo-environmental field
  • Experience in human health risk assessment models (e.g. CLEA) or groundwater modelling software (Remedial Targets Methodology)
  • Experience in geotechnical design (foundations and piles most useful)
  • Experience of site work involving ground investigations and testing
  • A working knowledge of Autocad
  • CSCS Card Holder.
