MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The main purpose of the Head of Campaigns – Thailand is to provide leadership and direction for the design and delivery of World Animal Protection’s global campaigns in Thailand.

Head of Campaigns – Thailand plays a key role in driving the animal welfare debate in Thailand by capturing the imagination of the public through the delivery of engaging and strategic campaigns that generate real change for animals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Leadership / Programmes Strategy Development and Implementation 35%
  • Provide leadership and direction for the design of Thailand Strategic Planning and delivered effects programmes to align with World Animal Protection’s global strategy
  • Develop and implement campaign strategies, plans and tactics that change the minds and behavior of the public, governments and business, moving them to protect animals
  • Foster cross departmental (primarily with Communications and Fundraising departments) collaboration to ensure campaigns building public support for World Animal Protection’s vision and mission as well as delivering on specific campaign objectives
  • Stay abreast of current media, political and scientific developments of relevance to World Animal Protection’s agenda
- Project management 30%
  • Manage staff and engage contractors as required in compliance with World Animal Protection personnel policies
  • Manage the delivery of outcomes within agreed timeframes and budgets
  • Work collaboratively with World Animal Protection Thailand staff, Regional and International teams to foster a culture of One World Animal Protection integration to ensure a coordinated approach to the campaign
  • Track dependencies between projects within the ‘responsibility’ programme
  • Implement effective mechanisms for monitoring, evaluation and reporting on projects
  • Provide timely reports and updates to the Country Director
  • Preparing project proposals and implementation plans with stakeholders and partners
  • Ensure that the programmes objectives are met and delivery in a timely manner and on budget effectively
  • Build and maintain effective relationships as required in the delivery of the projects
  • Manage consultants and contractors effectively
  • Provide timely project reports to the Country Director as needed
- Internal and external liaison and coordination / External Representation 10%
  • Participate and actively contribute in partnership forums, working groups and networks related to animal welfare work
  • Represent World Animal Protection at public activities, to build and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders such as the business community, scientific and government sectors, to the animal welfare community at large and to the media, to achieve campaign objectives and to strengthen the profile and credibility of World Animal Protection
  • Build relationships with a range of external stakeholders including business, government and non-governmental organizations on issues of relevance to World Animal Protection’s agenda
  • Effectively present information to a variety of audiences
- Reporting and budgeting 20%
  • Ensure regular and effective reporting as required by Country Director
  • Working collaboratively with the Asia Pacific Team to develop budgetary proposals for projects in Thailand as required
  • Monitor project expenditure against budget
- Quality assurance 5%
  • Support country staff in ensuring adherence to World Animal Protection policies, protocols, and standards
  • Ensure consistent and high quality project delivery across projects in Thailand
  • Support the Country Director in addressing alignment, compliance and quality issues, and needs of country team
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES
  • Degree level or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience of leading social change campaigns preferable in a regional or international campaign in animal welfare or environment
  • Strong knowledge of socio-economic, political, environmental and animal welfare issues in Thailand and Asia Pacific especially ASEAN countries
  • Experience working internationally and in a multi-cultural environment
  • Strong strategic abilities in programme and project management including project preparation; monitoring and evaluation and budgeting and financial management
  • Ability to lead and inspire multi-disciplined teams and build strong constructive relationships with other departments at all levels
  • Ability to work unsupervised, in a rapidly changing and high pressure environment
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining positive relationships with diverse external stakeholders in order to create change
  • Results-oriented with a positive outlook and a focus on high quality and constant improvement
  • Strong interpersonal, networking, negotiating skills and organizational skills
  • Extensive experience of representing issues in the media
  • Comfortable and competent working with national government, local government, local group
  • Excellent communications skills (written, oral and presentation both Thai and English)
  • Highly organised, ability to work to strict deadlines
  • A passion for animal welfare and a strong commitment to the aims and values of World Animal Protection
  • Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally sometimes on a short notice
  • IT/computer literate using Microsoft packages e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE APPLYING TO THIS POST
WORKING DAYS/HOURS
  • Normal hours of work for full time Employee will be from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9:30 am to 5:30 pm., with a 1 hour break for lunch.
  • Where employee is required to work at weekends (or public holidays, bank holidays) time off in lieu may be granted, with the prior agreement of Line Manager.
PROBATION
The probationary period is 119 days.

LEAVE
A permanent employee will be entitled to the following leaves:
Annual Leave: 20 days
Sick Leave: 30 days
Parental Leave: As per World Animal Protection Policy
Compassionate leave: maximum of 5 days for the death of significant others

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The organization will provide a monthly salary including life, accident and medical insurance.
