Project Officer

The International WaterCentre (IWC) is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person to join its projects team and contribute to capacity development, training and applied research activities of the centre.

The IWC is a joint venture of leading Australian universities, The University of Queensland and Griffith University, with a vision of creating water leaders of the future.  In addition to creating innovative environments for people to share knowledge and build capacity in the challenging area of integrated water management, the IWC delivers a range of education and training programs and undertakes applied research around the world.

The IWC is seeking applications from candidates that have demonstrated experience in a water related field; those with water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and international development experience are particularly welcome. A successful candidate will be able to work effectively and independently in cross-cultural and team contexts, will have proven communication and inter-personal skills, and strong financial management and organizational skills.

Position responsibilities include:
  • Administer and manage capacity building, applied research and training projects including managing partner relationships;
  • Participate in and provide input in various team contexts and projects across a range of integrated water management topics;
  • Contribute to project management including preparation and delivery of high quality project outputs as well as meeting reporting and budget requirements.
