Support Philippine Red Cross to help people rebuild their lives in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan. You will use your technical livelihood skills to support the ongoing disaster recovery efforts of Red Cross branches in Samar and Leyte.

Technical support to ensure effective planning, implementation and monitoring of programming
  • Support PRC project team develop a livelihood implementation plan for targeted families;
  • Provide operational management support to PRC project teams in the implementation of livelihood activities in the affected areas;
  • Facilitate planning meetings and workshops relating to livelihood activities when required;
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the activity to determine areas for improvement and best practices;
  • Provide technical guidance and makes recommendations for planned activities;
  • Provide training and mentoring to PRC project teams on livelihood guidelines and procedures;
  • Review and provide guidance to the beneficiary selection process of and the process for transfer of funds;
  • Ensure thematic issues such as gender and disability inclusion are mainstreamed in livelihood activities; and
  • Support PRC project teams in timely submission of information and report requirements, including weekly situation and accomplishment reports relating to PRC Haiyan Team and ARC Haiyan Recovery Advisor.
Team Coordination and support
  • Support the local PRC team to coordinate with LGU’s informing them about the current situation of the projects, in order to ensure the overall participation and coordination;
  • Coordinate with the Tacloban and Samar Chapters for the implementation of all livelihood projects; and
  • Coordinate with other local partners with regards to the implementation of the PRC Livelihood activities.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Knowledge and Experience
  • At least two years experience implementation livelihood projects in the Philippines.
  • Experience working in post disaster affected areas implementing recovery projects.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching in a cross-cultural setting
Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong capacity to build collegial relationships;
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills;
  • Well developed skills in training and/or mentoring staff;
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills; and
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Desirable
  • Experience implementing projects with the Red Cross Movement
