#JAKARTA Vacancy Conservation International - SLP Communications Coordinator

Working in 30+ countries globally, Conservation International (CI) Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to empowering societies to responsibly and sustainably care for nature for the good of humanity. We are currently looking to fill the following position for our office in Jakarta:

SLP Communications Coordinator

To assist the Communication Manager to implement the SLP Communication and Outreach strategy to effectively communicate and raise the visibility of the SLP program and its issues to partners and stakeholders. 

Responsibilities:
  • Support the preparation of regular external letters and reports to local stakeholders including Bupati, Pemda and other institutions related with SLP works.
  • Maintain media coverage and promote SLP’s work in the field sites through regular media relations (local and national);
  • Plan, research, interview, write, edit, proofread and distribute press release and other substantive articles to be used in CI’s electronic (SLP website) and print.
  • Draft articles for SLP Newsletter;
  • Maintain communications channels with key stakeholders in the field sites, to the extent: work with influential figures to promote a positive view of SLP, work to resolve issues or misunderstandings and to create strong relationships throughout the community.
  • Maintain and update SLP shared platforms (Dropbox, Google Drive, internal shared drive, intranet, etc).
  • Ensure the use of SLP Branding Guidelines in all SLP communication materials.
  • Support preparation of donor reports (work plan, annual and semi-annual) and monthly government reports.
  • Assist with compiling narratives and appropriate material for funding proposals, national and international events
Qualifications:
Required
  • A degree in communications with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in communications, journalism, and/or promotional activities.
  • High level oral communication and negotiating skills, excellent writing and editing skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English. 
  • An ability to work in a team and create communications strategies that are effective at reaching the program’s target audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience with the communication media, especially with news placement and awareness campaigns.
  • Computer skills and experience in relevant software (ie, MS Publisher, Pagemaker, Photoshop, Windows Movie Maker, and/or similar media programs)
Prefered
  • Experience in use of photographic, audio/visual equipment, graphic design programs and presentations
  • Familiar with or have some background in working with conservation NGOs
