International (AI) is at the forefront of human rights. And committed to
eradicating injustice, we’re always reaching out to potential
supporters. Our global campaigns and communications agenda allows us to
do just that – by bolstering support that helps us to create brighter
futures right across the world. Leading the planning and delivery of
each this agenda, your contribution will be critical.

About the role
In this key role,
you’ll maximize the effectiveness of the Campaigns and Communications
Directorate by guiding coordinated strategy development and
decision-making on plans and priorities across functions, ensuring
resources are allocated strategically to priority initiatives and
activities are delivered to set timelines. Drawing on your previous
experience of developing campaigns and communications strategies and
objectives you’ll support strategic planning across a wide range of IS
stakeholders in local, regional and section offices by mapping and
clearly communicating a coherent campaigns and communications agenda
designed to enhance achievement of AI’s change goals.

About you
With proven
experience of working in a campaigning organisation (preferably
international) and of developing campaigns and communications strategies
and objectives, you have already developed information management
processes to target a variety of audiences and for dissemination in
multiple languages across a range of locations. You have a close
understanding of international political and human rights trends, and
can apply your excellent political judgment, strong analytic skills and
the ability to think and plan strategically to ensure that campaigns and
communications outputs are delivered in a timely manner, and an
excellent standard of service delivery is maintained.

Crucially, you will have the combination of expertise and communication
skills that will ensure you provide effective advice to global and
regional campaigns and communications teams on the strategic programming
of action plans so that tactical opportunities are fully exploited.

About us
Our aim is simple:
an end to human rights abuses, and to protect and progress the rights of
people around the world who are discriminated against on the basis of
who they are. Independent, international and influential, we campaign
for justice, equality and freedom wherever they’re denied. Our network
of almost three million members and supporters is already making a
difference in 150 countries. And whether we’re applying pressure through
high-level research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations, movement
mobilisation or online campaigning, we’re all inspired by hope for a
better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by
everyone, everywhere.
