For this reason, with the endorsement of the International Board, ActionAid will invest on the development of Yappika’s fundraising operations and programme expansion.

Purpose of this position:
ActionAid is currently seeking for a Fundraising Advisor to spearhead the dynamic next phase of its partner’s fundraising strategy in Indonesia.  This Fundraising Advisor will be in the unique and exciting position to build a new fundraising programme in Indonesia, working together with a new local team and supported by ActionAid network.   We are looking for a person who is passionate with a high level of energy, motivation and oriented to achieve results.

The Fundraising Advisor will have to build Yappika’s internal organization for an effective planning, design, implementation, monitoring, analysis, communication and management of fundraising campaigns. He/She will also ensure that regular giving becomes Yappika’s fundraising target, so will help Yappika develop an effective and innovative storytelling approach for its donors’ retention and for external communication. He/She will train, empower and guide a strongly committed team throughout the start-up of Yappika’s fundraising operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Start-up fundraising Operations”
  • Finalization of agreements with the suppliers
  • Based on the existing market assessment and knowledge of the market, guide the team through the design of new fundraising products and campaigns on different acquisition channels (F2F, Online fundraising, telemarketing and direct marketing in general, online lead generation campaigns)
  • Supporters’ communications: from acquisition to payment reminders, project updates, emergency/advocacy appeals, definition of communication flows
Planning, budgeting, performance analysis and business Intelligence:
  • Based on the existing fundraising plan, budget and investment scenario, develop a regular/monthly planning and monitoring system for activities, expenses and performance, in liaison with AA’s Coordinator
  • Ensuring that a sensitive business intelligence culture is spread throughout the team and the management
  • Guiding the team in carrying out performance analyses regularly, through the suppliers’ campaign reports and their own regular monitoring.
Team development and empowerment :
  • Trains, guides and enables the national team and sets up the required processes and systems for successful fundraising launch in this market.
  • Ensures the new local fundraising team has the required skills and systems to be able to continue with mid-long term fundraising operations.  
Coordination with the advocacy and programme department, the finance unit and the office management department
  • Ensures holistic approach to fundraising by coordinating with the different departments.
  • Instils a storytelling approach to all the organizational departments and supports them in the development of a coordinated method of work for storytelling and fundraising
Required Skills and Experience:
  • At least 10 years’ relevant experience, of which three years must be in a senior fundraising management role.  Consulting and advisory experience is an asset.
  • Proven track records/ successful fundraising experience in diverse fundraising markets and/or environments.
  • Experience in fundraising from a diversity of regular giving acquisition methods including online fundraising, face to face, and other direct marketing techniques for regular giving acquisition Especially, proven successful experience on designing lead generation campaigns and managing lead conversion (through telemarketing, e-mailing, etcetera).
  • Strong experience in starting-up new ventures/ fundraising operations and working in multicultural environments.
  • Ability to set and implement monitoring systems, data analyses and business intelligence for fundraising or marketing activity.
  • Knowledge of the new trends in terms of acquisition channels, payment methods, communications media, social media, etcetera.
  • Good knowledge of DMS, specifically CRM systems and communication flows.
  • Experience in Southeast Asian markets or other emerging markets.
  • Experience of effective communication at all levels and strong coaching skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and self-motivational skills.
  • Strong motivation to handle new challenges and achieve results.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.

  • The working language of the post is English.
