Through our partnership with Harvard Medical School and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, we support a wide range of programs in dozens of other countries around the world.

Position Overview:
The External Relations Coordinator is an important member of the PIH Development and Liberia teams, providing organization and logistics coordination for all visitors to Liberia and serving as a representative of PIH Liberia for collaborators, donors and other visitors. This individual’s primary responsibilities include logistics coordination, accompaniment of visitors, grant proposals and reports compiling, and liaison with the Liberia, Development and Communications teams.


Specific Responsibilities:
  • Manage all hospitality and staff logistics personnel. (15%)
  • Support on-boarding and orientation of incoming foreign staff members. (10%)
  • Oversee all international staff movements. Work closely with PIH West Africa and Boston teams to coordinate smooth travel of staff in and out of Liberia. (25%)
  • Work with PIH Liberia leadership to plan and coordinate all logistics for Liberia trips by visiting staff and partners. Communicate with staff and partners prior to trips to Liberia. (25%)
  • Set vision and goals for staff logistics. Support direct report to reach big-picture ideas and continually advance operations. (10%)
  • Maintain key staff tracking documents, including contact lists; orientation documents for foreign staff and visitors; and travel and emergency information for foreign staff. (15%)
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; background/interest in social science, area studies or public health preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience providing administrative or coordinative and logistics support in a field setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required. Ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse staff.
  • Enthusiasm for global health and social justice.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative; must be a quick learner, able to multi-task and easily adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Advanced organizational skills and capacity to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to effectively work on a team in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated maturity and good judgment.
