KfW Entwicklungsbank Job Vacancy: Project Coordinator Water & Sanitation Sector - Kampala, Uganda

In Uganda KfW is engaged in the promotion of renewable energy, water and sanitation and rural development. Since 1964 KfW has provided over EUR 630 million to support projects on behalf of the Federal Government of Germany in Uganda.

Investments currently fi nanced by KfW are water and sewage treatment, basic sanitation, the expansion of the network and public standpipes in the slums in Kampala and Gulu, as well as small towns in North and East Uganda. The KfW Offi ce in Kampala seeks to recruit an experienced and competent person in the following role:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze the political and economic environment, and sector development.
  • Develop new project ideas and support in the project appraisal.
  • Introduce the portfolio and related procedures and instruments of KfW to stakeholders.
  • Prepare Terms of Reference for consulting assignments related to the portfolio.
  • Follow up on, conduct monitoring and evaluation and report on the portfolio.
  • Ensure proper documentation of the portfolio according to KfW regulations.
  • Proactively support and follow up the portfolio-related correspondence and communications.
  • Prepare and support missions from the German Government and KfW headquarter.
  • Provide regular feed-back and consult regularly with the Director and the Project Manager, regarding the status of the portfolio.
  • Support/generate comprehensive information on the portfolio for public relations.
  • Participate and represent KfW at sector events.
Essential Requirements:
  • A Minimum of a University Degree from a recognized institution and a qualifi cation in Project Management.
  • A Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working either as a consultant or an employee with a multilateral or bilateral donor organization focusing on Water and Sanitation and other local infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with project management concepts and tools such as project cycle, M&E, due diligence and steering of consultancies.
  • Experience interfacing and communicating with different clients and partners from the private and public sectors.
  • Working knowledge of the water and sanitation sector.
  • Working knowledge of other local infrastructure projects is an added advantage.
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
