Role and Responsibilities
As an integral part of the HR team, you will support Medair’s international recruitment strategy and objectives based on targeted recruitment activities, resourcing internationally recruited staff (IRS) and HQ staff.

Main functions will be promoting Medair externally on key websites, or representing and presenting Medair at events or churches. Additionally, you will develop high quality recruitment communications, support recruitment projects, and research, manage, and add to key recruitment contact databases from public, training, professional, church, and partner orgs. All the above activities have a strong focus on international and Swiss French-speaking recruitment opportunities.

Medair Headquarters Medair Headquarters (HQ) provides operational guidance for country programmes and activities, along with both technical and compassionate support for our relief workers. Within our headquarters, we are also responsible for promoting the work of Medair to the world, to raise and manage the funds needed to run our life-saving and sustaining programmes.

Key Activity Areas
Medair Vacancies :
  • Creating brand-prepared job descriptions from original JDs and uploading jobs on the Medair website.
  • Promoting Medair jobs on key external humanitarian / development / professional / Christian websites.
  • Support creation and integration of French branded recruitment material for promotion. Medair Publics
  • Search for key potential candidates in Devex, LinkedIn or other online databases and prepare lists for pre-selection for pro-active recruitment communications.
  • Coordinate sending vacancies to key publics to Medairs main language groups (EN / FR / NL / DE). ?
  • Researching and adding key contacts to the Medair recruitment databases.
  • Review analysis tools and improvement of recruitment targeting potential for recruitment activities.
Recruitment Events :
  • Support Medair recruitment by researching and attending relevant and targeted events in order to build our candidates pool and add to our network of contacts, with a focus on French-speaking parts of Switzerland, as well as internationally.
  • Present Medair brand professionally and with a predominant focus on recruitment opportunities, with fundraising and prayer topics included where appropriate.
  • Organise, coordinate and resource attendees for Medair recruitment information events in key locations across Switzerland / internationally to bring first-hand experience from field staff and Medair HQ staff to encourage and support recruitment of candidates to the field.
 Recruitment Database Communications Projects :
  • Support Medair recruitment with projects related to improving relationships with Medair staff, churches and other key target groups.
  • Support improvement of use of database systems
  • Particularly Wigii database management, Campaign Monitor targeted emailings, and Qlik analysis of recruitment performance indicators.
  • Improve information in key Medair staff databases e.g. Wigii, Campaign Monitor.
  • Support and develop research and analysis projects. Recruitment Networking
  • Support Medair recruitment by researching and contacting key training, professional group, church, and partner organisations in Switzerland / internationally to potentially build our candidates pool and add to our network of relevant contacts.
 Recruitment Strategy :
  • Support Medair recruitment strategy by complementing and integrating new recruitment activities with a Swiss and International French bias into the ongoing recruitment strategy and plans.
  • Recruitment support to affiliates to research, target and implement relevant recruitment approaches.
Recruitment Procedures
Updating recruitment procedures manuals to improve understanding of on-going task requirements.

Qualifications
  • Business Administration / Communications degree desirable
  • Marketing / communications / web training desirable; database training desirable Languages
  • Strong working knowledge of French (spoken and written)
  • Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written) and French language working culture
Experience / Competencies
  • Experience working in communications, or recruitment marketing
  • Competent with multiple internet platforms; competent with online tools
  • Pro-active, passionate and driven to find relevant
  • Needle in haystack
  • Type candidates
  • Excellent ability to learn quickly and implement database / internet tools
  • Attention to detail; good computer skills; good analytical skills ? Sense of initiative and responsibility; able to work well independently

  • Reflect the vision and values of Medair when interacting with team members and external contacts At least one year of professional experience in a relevant field (more experience preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of English (spoken and written) ? Working knowledge of French (spoken and written) for French-speaking roles
  • Competent with MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook ? Motivated by a spirit of service
