NRC is looking to recruit an experienced Support Manager for our Country Office in Palestine. This position will be placed in Gaza and reports to the Area Manager, with technical reporting line to the Head of Support in Jerusalem.

NRC in Palestine is a leading NGO in both programmatic and policy work and runs activities in Legal Assistance, Shelter, WASH, Education, GBV, and Urban Displacement. In order to respond to the new requirements that the rapidly expanded Gaza Area Office is putting on the Support Unit, NRC is looking for a senior Support Manager for a short term 3 months mission with solid knowledge of logistics, security, HR and finance routines in a humanitarian context. preferably with knowledge of NRC and the Palestine context.

The Support Manager will be responsible for conducting a capacity assessment of the Gaza Area Office support structure and to formulate recommended improvements. The candidate will also on a daily basis and in a practical manner: (i) be responsible for ensuring that the existing support team is trained to meet expanded responsibilities after recent rapid growth, (ii) ensure adequate and fit-for-purpose support strategy rooted in national staff capacity development and (iii) ensure that all rules, regulations, routines, procedures, SOPs are accessible to and known by all staff.

In this position you will join highly motivated and expert staff who are making a difference to the most vulnerable people in the world's biggest displacement crisis.

Responsibilities include:
  • Manage support staff at field office level 
  • Manage day to day HR & Admin, finance, logistics and security tasks of the field office 
  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, procedures and SOPs/guidelines 
  • Ensure adherence to Security and Risk Management policy and procedures 
  • Coordinate and assist with budgets and costs for the field office’s shared costs and support functions 
  • Provide support in the training and development of staff 
  • Provide support to project implementation at field office level
