The HALO Trust is the world’s largest humanitarian demining NGO, leading the effort to protect lives and restore livelihoods threatened by landmines and the debris of war. This role is located in the West Bank but we operate in 16 countries and 4 territories around the world so, once you’ve proven your skills in the West Bank you could find yourself facing new challenges elsewhere.

It is a varied and challenging role so we are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years experience in a relevant role.

Job Description
The Programme Support Officer reports to the Programme Manager. The role is located in Ramat Hasharon (Israel) with regular travel to the West Bank.

Responsibilities include:
  • Donor Contract Management: Manage the donor contract files as advised by the Programme Manager; Oversee and track the progress on outputs for each contract and flag up any problems to the Programme Manager; Maintain a reports / proposal writing schedule for all contracts. 
  • Reports and Presentations: Prepare timely reports and donor proposals; Prepare presentational materials including brochures, briefing documents, displays and powerpoints; Improve the style and substance of all of the above. 
  • Documentation and studies: Oversee the collection of socio-economic data; Enter collected data on the programme database; Conduct case studies to document the impact of mine clearance and then draft copy, including a quote. 
  • Survey and Data management: Oversee the HALO operational database; Oversee GIS / mapping functions; Oversee the programme’s IT systems. 
  • Liaison: Facilitate visits to the programme; Provide training to national and international staff. 
  • Fundraising and Communications: Produce high-quality communications materials for project fundraising; Support the Regional Director and Director of Strategy with fundraising activities; Act as an in-country contact for fundraising enquiries; Alert Communications team in advance to key milestones e.g. handovers, events/meetings of note and work with them to develop content and plan the timely distribution of news about your programme on HERE and social networks; Identify beneficiaries with compelling stories; capture these in well written stories accompanied by good quality images; Curate imagery so it can be easily searched and accessed by HQ Comms; Be the guardian of the HALO brand in country; Participate in a monthly call with HQ Communications.
Skills and attributes required:
Good writer; Natural communicator, good at building relationships; Disciplined approach; Attention to detail; Team player; Sense of humour; Familiarity with GIS mapping software an advantage but not essential.
