Save the Children Vacancy: Communication Officer - START, Sumba - NTT, Indonesian

Save the Children is an international NGO and the world’s top independent charity for children in need. Since 1919, we have been fighting for children’s rights, saving their lives and providing hope for brighter futures worldwide.  Save the Children’s programs in Indonesia is implemented by Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik. We currently work in eleven provinces, have staff of approximately 300 local professionals, and programming in Child Protection, Education, Health and Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Humanitarian Response.

We are currently seeking to fill the following position:

ROLE PURPOSE:
Save the Children (Yayasan Tunas Cilik) has a long-term commitment to work in Sumba with the goal of ensuring Sumba children are healthy and receive high quality education services. Through 10-year Sponsorship program and Clean and Healthy START School Project, a Unilever funded project, the activities of Save the Children in Sumba prioritized on four core areas: Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), Basic Education (BE), School Health and Nutrition (SHN) and Adolescent Development (AD). Right now, with support from Save the Children Korea, we are in initial stage of implementing START program, one of the integrative program approach consisted of Health/Nutrition, Education and Child Protection. The overall goal of this project is to assist children aged 0 – 9 years to realize their rights through the provision of quality basic services in health and nutrition, education and protection in 5 sub district of Sumba Barat district.

To inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and in line with our theory of change, Save the Children aims to be credible and powerful voice for children; because of this, we know that behaviour change communication, campaign and advocacy work, and community outreach and mobilization are critical to Save the Children success.

The post holder will support programs START to develop and deliver communication strategies, produce quality communication products as well as develop and implement campaigns strategies.
