USAID’s LESTARI project supports the Government of Indonesia to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and conserve biodiversity in carbon rich and biologically significant forest and mangrove ecosystems. Built on the strong foundation of USAID’s IFACS project, LESTARI applies a landscape approach to reduce GHG emissions, integrating forest and peatland conservation with low emissions development (LEDS) on other, already degraded land. This is achieved through improved land use governance, enhanced protected areas management and protection of key species, sustainable private sector and industry practices, and expanded constituencies for conservation among various stakeholders. Together with the Leader of the Consortium and other Consortium Partners, Sahabat Cipta is currently implementing the project activities which is planned to be run until July 2020.

Currently Sahabat Cipta is looking for a Certification Coordinator.

Duty Station: Blangkejeren – Gayo Lues (and Tapaktuan during the initial months)

Duration of assignment: initial contract for 1 year with possibility of extension (subject of performance evaluation).

Objective of the assignment:
To develop and implement Internal Control System for certification of selected sectors/supply chains in Aceh landscape and ensure the selected supply chains can be certified in response to agreed terms and conditions in the PPP agreements

TASKS
General Summary of Roles and Responsibility:
  • Assist the Component Coordinator in developing and implementing work plan with reference to certification of selected supply chains
  • Provide technical input, supervision and quality control in the certification process
  • Address and solve problems arising as a result of implementation of certification
SPECIFIC TASKS
  • Develop Internal Control System for certification of selected commodities
  • Provide training  for Internal Auditors (e.g. key farmers, key service providers)
  • Provide technical advisory services to Internal Auditors in conducting inspection
  • Determine areas for certification
  • Organize farmers/beneficiaries for certification process
  • Coordinate with certification bodies (External Auditors) for external audit
  • Coordinate with the private sector partners in terms of certification needs
  • Follow up recommendations from External Auditors following inspection and coordinate execution of recommendations
  • Conduct quality control prior to internal and external audits
  • Provide technical assistance in product marketing & ICS implementation
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University degree in agriculture with relevant background
  • Certified trainer in product certification
  • A successful track-record in certification of agricultural products with experience and understanding of Aceh
  • Computer literacy, including the use of office software
  • Good report writing and communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully work within a team
  • High degree of self-motivation, commitment to achieve results, and integrity
  • Flexibility for working and travelling according to needs
  • Minimum 3 years experiences as Certification Coordinator
