IMA World Health Is Seeking A Chief of Party - Indonesian

IMA World Health is seeking a Chief of Party (COP) for an upcoming USAID Maternal Child Health (MCH) funding opportunity in Indonesia. The COP will be responsible for leading all aspects of contract performance, providing technical guidance to all tasks under the contract and representing the project's activities to external audiences. He/She will answer directly to the Senior Technical Director of Programs.

Duties:
  • Provide overall supervision of program activities, including management of personnel and subcontractors.
  • Responsible for leading the strategic planning for the program, including annual work plans; ensure close coordination with USAID and program partners and stakeholders.
  • Foster and maintain effective, professional relations with a broad range of government counterparts.
  • Serve as IMA's representative to USAID, the Indonesian government, other donors and multinationals, technical agencies and other participating organizations.
  • Confer with USAID management on strategic issues to maximize impact and scale, minimize costs, and maximize efficiency and sustainability in achieving project requirements.
  • Serve as primary liaison with USAID, the Ministry of Health (MOH) and IMA HQ.
  • Oversee project management, technical work, scheduling, and deadlines associated with the project.
  • Ensure all activities conform to the terms and conditions of project requirements, including cost, schedule and quality parameters.
  • Ensure the timely and quality completion of all program deliverables and reports in accordance with USAID guidelines.
  • Ensure technical capacity of staff and provide technical assistance and backstopping when required.
  • Directly supervise and mentor project staff.
  • Direct and supervise the performance and delivery of services by both international and national subcontractors.
The position requires a competent and experienced person with the following attributes:
  • Minimum of advanced degree in public health, health management, business administration, education or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the implementation and management of international donor/USAID funded health projects, with substantial knowledge and experience related to health sector improvement methodologies, capacity development, decentralization, or civil society strengthening in Indonesia highly preferred.
  • At least five years in a senior management position with donor USAID-funded programs.
  • Excellent communication skills (attention to details is required); flexible and able to multi-task.
  • A proven record of excellent management, leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills to ensure internal coherence among diverse team members and subcontractors.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of internal and external clients.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills and a reputation for strong personnel and program management.
  • Willingness and ability to live and work in Indonesia for the duration of the Project.
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required.
