Lutheran World Relief (LWR), a U.S. based non-profit development organization engaged in seeking lasting solutions to poverty and reducing risk, is seeking an experienced Indonesian staffs who are interested in working on Indonesian Rural Economic Development in Indonesia East and who are available on August 2016 for one year period with possibility extending.

IRED Project coordinator
Based in: WAINGAPU, SUMBA ISLAND, indonesia
REPORTS TO:  MEDAN BASED program manager
PURPOSE:
The Project Coordinator is responsible for managing IRED Project in East Sumba District and and supervise the field staffs such as field staffs, engineer that will work in the field. He/she will ensure the day to day activities are being implemented at IRED Project under LWR activities working with farmers in the villages and has coordination with World Vision IRED PM and ICRAFT team in Sumba Timur, The Project Coordinator will oversee the day to day project activities as well the administration in project level and provide ongoing reports to the Program Manager.

CORE COMPETENCIES
  • Deep commitment to LWR’s core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners
  • 5 years progressive experience in community development, soil and water conservation, agroforestry, value chain. Emergency response experience is advantage.
  • Knowledge of program cycle including design, monitoring and evaluating development projects.
  • Advanced degree in agriculture or relevant discipline
  • 3 years’ experience in managing project and staffs
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with local government, cooperatives, and farmers
  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and web browser software
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Experience in Sumba Timur especially Haharu Sub District.
  • Ability to provide written and oral reports in English preferred
IRED WATER CONSERVATION ENGINEER
Based in: ired projeCt SITE - WAINGAPU, SUMBA ISLAND, indonesia
REPORTS TO:  LWR IRED PROJECT COORDINATOR
PURPOSE:
The Water Conservation Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of rainwater harvesting system in 7 villages in Haharu Sub District under IRED Project. He/she will ensure the design meets the specific requirement for each project sites, and the rainwater harvesting system works effectively to serve the community’s agriculture area. He/she will also responsible for the day to day activities that contribute to the achievement of related outcomes and outputs in IRED Project under LWR’s responsibility, together with LWR team in Sumba Timur, and in coordination with World Vision, and ICRAF. The WCE will oversee the implementation of rainwater harvesting system design, provide training to the implementer if necessary, monitor the progress of the work regularly, and provide ongoing report to the Project coordinator.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Creative and innovative in the idea to support the project implementation
  • Advance Degree in Civil Engineering, Land and Water Conservation Engineering, or relevant discipline.
  • 5 years progressive experience in land and water conservation, water management, water facility construction and community development. Consultancy experience in construction design is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of program cycle including design, monitoring and evaluating development projects
  • Possess strong analytical skill, and creative design
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with local government, cooperatives, and farmer
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, other graphic design software, e-mail and web browser software
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Experience in Sumba Timur especially Haharu Sub District.
  • Proven proficiency in written and oral English is preferred
IRED CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR
Based in: ired projeCt SITE - WAINGAPU, SUMBA ISLAND, indonesia
REPORTS TO:  IRED WATER CONSERVATION ENGINEER
PURPOSE:
The Construction Supervisor is responsible for the implementation of rainwater harvesting system and other water facility construction in 7 villages in Haharu Sub District under IRED Project. He/she will ensure the establishment of the system meets the specific design and requirement for each project sites, and the rainwater harvesting system works effectively to serve the community’s agriculture area. He/she will be responsible to ensure all materials meet the approved standard quality and quantity, and the workers do their job according to schedule. Together with LWR team, he/she will also responsible for the day to day activities that contribute to the achievement of related outcomes and outputs in IRED Project under LWR’s responsibility, and in coordination with World Vision, and ICRAF. The CS will work with the community, monitor the construction of rainwater harvesting system, and provide ongoing report to the Water Conservation Engineer.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND CORE COMPETENCIES

  • D3 or Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 5 years progressive experience water management, supervising construction work, and community development. Experience in supervising water facility construction is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership and communication skill
  • Experience in working with local people, especially in Sumba Timur and Haharu Sub-district
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with local government, cooperatives, and farmer
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, other graphic design software, e-mail and web browser software
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

IRED FIELD FACILITATOR
Based in: Live In the ired projet, SUMBA ISLAND, indonesia
REPORTS TO:  project coordinator
PURPOSE:
The Field Facilitator is responsible for the field based aspects of 7 villages in Haharu Sub District under IRED Project. He/she will ensure the day to day activities are being implemented at IRED Project under LWR activities working with farmers in the villages and has coordination with World Vision IRED, ICRAF,   team in Sumba Timur, The FF will oversee the training, assist the WMC in follow up trainings and monitoring, monitor the water management facilities and   and provide ongoing reports to the Project Coordinator.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND CORE COMPETENCIES
