ZSL International Job Vacancy: Deputy Project Director - Jakarta, Indonesian

ZSL is seeking an individual to oversee the implementation of ZSL’s Indonesia Production Landscapes. The post holder will have overall responsibility for delivering ZSL’s work in Indonesia, restoring peat forests that have been largely destroyed by fire and will be responsible for managing a team of experienced and dedicated in-country staff. They will be an experienced project manager and have direct responsibility for managing the delivery of several of ZSL’s corporate partnerships. The post holder will be critical to up-scaling and solidifying ZSL’s work and delivering the Packard Foundation and UKCCU funded integrated landscape project.

Person Specification

Qualifications/ Education
  • Master’s Degree in a relevant subject such as Biodiversity, Conservation, Forestry, Natural Resource management or Bachelor degree (with equivalent experience) or equivalent level of work experience in a related position.
Essential Experience
  • You will need to be able to demonstrate extensive experience of: either field conservation and or development, project leadership, including project management and financial reporting, working with the private sector and or with small scale enterprises is a bonus.
  • You will need: good understanding of landscape management and conservation issues, in particular those related to public private partnership and certification schemes, ideally in the context of oil palm or another agricultural commodity.
