We are looking for a new Migration and Discrimination Campaign Manager. It is a great opportunity for creative people with strong communication and project management skills who are experts in migration and discrimination issues in Italy and are ready to take up a new challenge. We're looking for a team worker who will manage and develop the organization's campaigns to make a real change in the field of human rights.

The role:
The Migration and Discrimination Campaign Manager ensures the following goals are reached: 

  • Develop campaign strategies and projects and deliver campaigning activities to achieve impact along Amnesty's human rights priorities, particularly on issues such as migration, rights of minorities, gender identity and sexual orientation.
  • Develop and manage creative and innovative communication approaches to reach relevant audiences and key influencers.
  • Generate content on the thematic priorities relevant to this role.

About you:

  • We are looking for a Migration and Discrimination Campaign Manager with the following characteristics

Technical knowledge: 

  • An in-depth knowledge of the techniques and tools that are used in traditional and digital communication for campaigning.
  • Knowledge of issues relating to migration, discrimination of minorities (such as Roma people) and issues related to gender identity and sexual orientation. Capacity to quickly identify and understand key information about relevant human rights issues in order to support campaign strategy development.
  • Degree, Master's degree, or equivalent specialisation in the field of human rights.

Experience:

  • Experience of managing campaigning projects aimed at raising awareness and promoting human rights. Experience of leading project teams and ability to engage and inspire team members.
  • At least five years' experience in international organisations with similar tasks, a high level of responsibility and proven experience of leading and implementing campaigns at the national level by using innovative and creative approaches to campaigning.
  • Experience of working with colleagues and partners in Italy and abroad; proven experience of working with communication and creative agencies for the implementation of campaigns.

Skills:

  • Excellent communications skills in Italian and English (Spanish and French a plus), and experience of writing motivating and inspiring campaign materials for a diverse range of audiences and of communicating campaign messages.
  • Experience of managing conflicting demands, meeting deadlines and adjusting priorities in order to deliver on campaign objectives.
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural environment with appropriate sensitivity to differences of culture, gender and physical ability; commitment to Amnesty International values.
