Program Management Consultants for Greenhouse Gas (GHG) and Methane Capture Programs – Jakarta, Indonesia

Effective with the release of this position announcement, Winrock International is recruiting applicants for the Jakarta-based consultancies as Program Managers for programs in the areas of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Accounting and Methane Capture.The responsibilities and qualifications are described in the below position description.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Program Managers
LOCATION: Jakarta, Indonesia
STATUS: Fulltime employee or part time consulting
REPORTS TO: Country Director

POSITION SUMMARY
Winrock International is recruiting Program Mangers to lead on-going and anticipated projects in the areas of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) accounting and/or Methane Capture. Consultants with strong management skills and experience in either or both of the topic areas will be considered. This position will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Both Indonesians and expatriates will be considered.

Assignments are contingent upon secured funding and contract awards to Winrock and approval from the clients.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as Program Manager for various programs. The applicant will be expected to:
  • Lead technical assignments, working in close coordination with the project team.
  • Be responsible for overall project management.
  • Liaise between project teams and donors.
  • Coordinate between local project teams and Winrock Headquarters technical specialists.
  • Manage technical specialists and provide technical direction.
  • Manage project budgets and reporting requirements and provide quality control oversight of deliverables.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written, in English. Bahasa Indonesia also preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience managing environmental projects in Indonesia and a minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: climate science, carbon accounting, waste-to-energy, and/or renewable energy.
  • Demonstrated experience managing donor-funded projects, including engagement with industry and government.
  • Experience with the Indonesian palm oil industry and sustainable best management practices is preferred.
  • For methane capture programs, experience in the palm oil industry and POME-to-energy projects is preferred.
  • For GHG programs, experience with renewable energy and with natural resource management projects is preferred.
  • Ability to manage a wide range of stakeholders and represent Winrock to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent computer skills, including word-processing, spreadsheets and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced degree in relevant field of study (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, International Development, Public Policy, Rural Development)
