SUMMARY:
Implements and manages multiple programs. Develops, monitors, and evaluates programs and ensures fiscal responsibility. Coordinates, supports, and provides business development information. Ensures compliance with all regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implements and manages all programs within the country. Uses technical experience and knowledge of the Syrian context to identify and resolve problems and define solutions. Analyzes budgets, prepares financial reports, and provides recommendations on expenditures. Manages operation, activities, and staff.

Grows and develops Syria portfolio, engaging with donors and project partners. Represents IWPR at relevant national and local meetings with government officials, partners/contractors, NGOs, and others.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, management, or related field. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects in complex environments including staff management and financial/budget management.
  • In-depth knowledge of programmatic, compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent financial management skills.
  • Awareness, sensitivity, and understanding of cross-cultural issues.
  • Ability to work in partnership with local communities and NGOs as appropriate.
  • Excellent organizational skills. Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic, written and oral.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
