OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
The Bid Manager is a responsible for the compilation of all proposals, both technical and commercial. The role primarily entails researching, preparing, writing, managing and submitting all necessary information required for Request for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotes (RFQs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and other tenders issued by clients or potential business associates.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Role objective:
  • Responsible for producing articulate and informative proposals containing a well-defined overview of CTG’s technical and managerial capabilities for prospective clients.
  • Entails researching, preparing, writing, managing and submitting all necessary information required for Request for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotes (RFQs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and other tender information.
  • Conduct research on proposal related costing, items, companies, partners, competitors, etc. as required. The Senior Vice President may request additional research matters in relation to business development from time to time.
  • Develops and maintains resource status reports for the proposal team ensuring that timelines are met.
  • Provides support and guidance to bid teams on resource procedures, best practices, tools and methodologies.
  • Maintains Library of records, archives and proposal performance database for all company submitted proposals, EOI’s, profiles, bio’s, presentations, marketing materials, etc. to date; and store all records on Huddle. Manage the proposal cost analysis and after action reports for the Executive Leadership Team’s future strategic planning and budgeting.
  • Update and maintain salesforce and all vendor registrations.
  • Completes a debrief with the Business and Commercial Development teams to identify gaps and reasons for unsuccessful bids.
  • Controls the distribution of proposals and related documents – considered company confidential documentation.
  • Provides recommendations to the Senior Vice President on proposals.
  • Any other duties as specified by the Senior Vice President.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communication/Business/English.
Work experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable relevant Administration experience.
Geographical experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Middle East with local experience in is an advantage.
Languages:
  • Fluency in English is essential.
Key competencies:
  • 5-10 years of experience required in a similar proposal development position.
  • Ability to maintain strong working relationships with all levels of personnel at CTG in order to ensure accurate information provided in all proposals.
  • Requires the ability to oversee the work of others, as well as managing expectations and project deadlines.
  • Requires a proactive ability to grasp complex concepts, collaborate with subject matter experts, and ultimately present solutions effectively in written and visual format.
  • Preferable to have experience in business development & marketing.
  • Technical writing experience will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian environment is an advantage
Other relevant information:
  1. Formal qualification in Communication/Business/English
  2. Commercial skills – commercially astute with sufficient understanding of commercial practices capable of leading in production of technical and commercial bids and contract analysis
  3. Communication skills – first class oral and written English communication skills; capable of developing a cogent, well-analysed papers/presentations.
  4. Strong intra-personal skills – capable of negotiating effectively.
  5. Administrative Skills – strong Microsoft word application use. 2;
