Save the Children - Bright Project Job Vacancy: Communication & Advocacy Officer, Makassar - South Sulawesi

Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik partner of Save the Children in Indonesia is changing for the better.  We've begun to build a national organisation that aims to be a strong, local, and self-sustaining voice for children in Indonesia namely Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik Tunas Cilik.  To this end, Yayasan has been designated as a “Prospect Member of Save the Children” which focuses on strengthening and localizing our voice for children in strategic middle income countries.Currently Save the Children’s programs in Indonesia is implemented by Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik. We work in eleven provinces, have staff of approximately 300 local professionals, and programming in Child Protection, Education, Health and Nutrition, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Humanitarian Response.
We are currently seeking to fill the following position:
COMMUNICATION AND ADVOCACY OFFICER - BRIGHT

ROLE PURPOSE:
Yayasan Tunas Cilik- Partner of Save the Children will implement BRIGHT ((BRIng and Give Hope outside of Trash) to address the well-being and resiliency of children and households engaged in the informal waste management sector through A Child Sensitive Livelihood, Social Protection, Adolescent Skills for Successful Transition (ASST) and Child Protection Intervention. The Project location is in Location is Manggala Sub District, Makassar, South Sulawesi (TPA Antang community).
To inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, and in line with our theory of change, Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik’s aims to be a credible and powerful voice for children; because of this and in support of the organization strategy, we know that communication, branding and media outreach is very critical to YSTC Success.
Under the direct supervision of BRIGHT Project Manager in Makassar and technical support of the Media, Public Relation and Communications Manager and Communication Coordinator from Jakarta, the Communication and Advocacy Officer will work closely on providing editorial, creative and operational support on advocacy works across YSTC’s work. S/he will play a key role in ensuring our communications and advocacy works are both influential & informative for the full range of our stakeholders.
The post holder will support BRIGHT project to develop and deliver communication strategies, produce quality communication and advocacy products as well as develop and implement campaigns strategies. This is including toorganize events, identify and generate story opportunities, s/he will react to major breaking stories, write newsworthy press materials (press releases, case studies, media briefings).
