SNV is a not-for-profit international development organisation. Founded in the Netherlands 50 years ago, we have built a long-term, local presence in 38 of the countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Our global teams of local and international advisors work with local partners to equip communities, businesses and organisations with the tools, knowledge and connections they need to increase their incomes and gain access to basic services - empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and guide their own development.

In Indonesia, SNV works together with local partners to provide technical expertise in three sectors: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Agriculture and Renewable Energy.

In the WASH sector, SNV is focused on increasing access to safely managed sanitation and in sustaining positive changes in hygiene behaviour, by providing scalable, market driven solutions tailored to rural and urban contexts. Currently, the WASH sector is delivering 3 large scale programmes: Supporting STBM in the Lampung Province, WASH SDGS: Urban Sanitation and Hygiene for Health and Development, Voice for Change Advocacy Programme while ensuring a long term partnership with the USAID funded IUWASH programme. SNV's WASH sector works closely with national level ministries, key stakeholders such as AKKOPSI, Jejaring AMPL and the Sanitation Partners Group, as well as with other international organizations and donors.

In the Agriculture sector, SNV reduces poverty and improves livelihoods through innovative themes/solutions that address sustainable markets, food and nutrition security, and climate change, with additional balancing benefit and youth employment provided across those themes. Currently, Agriculture Sector is working in several projects in Indonesia, including promoting pig feed distribution in Timor Island, developing responsible sourcing from rubber and palm oil smallholders in Sumatera, building inclusive coffee markets in Flores, and supporting climate change response to local government in Indonesia amongst other projects.
