Job brief
We are seeking a Fundraising Prospect Researcher provide background on high quality fundraising prospects. Further, you will be responsible for seeking out potential major donors, researching their submission criteria and delving into their backgrounds. The information obtained will be used to apply for funding.

Responsibilities
  • Using a broad spectrum of sources, you will research, organize and evaluate a prospect’s financial capacity, ability to give, willingness to give, charitable interests, and IWI’s potential for grant acquisition.
  • Produces in-depth, well-written reports on prospects based on a combination of data from the donor database, available financial records, real estate ownership, and other markers of high quality donors
  • Writes prospect briefings for the use of the fundraising team
  • Implements new research techniques as they arise, striving to design the ultimate prospect research methodology
  • Works with Director of Fundraising and other team members to improve IWI’s fundraising strategies
  • May provide general support to fundraising team and work on special projects when appropriate
  • Investigate, analyze, and synthesize large quantities of data into a user-friendly and concise format for the use of the fundraising team
Requirements
  • Have a demonstrated track record of doing extensive research
  • Requirement of 1-2 years of related work experience
  • Ability to work with deadlines
  • Proficiently work with databases
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
  • Problem-solve effectively
  • Excellent time management skills
