BAWA Bali Job Vacancy: Special Event & Fundraising Coordinator - Denpasar, Indonesian

Working together with a team of animal lovers to protect and help Bali’s animals. This individual is responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive annual development strategy and plan for BAWA, including prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major donors. This indivisual will also promote BAWA’s mission, uphold the integrity of the organization at all times, and work collaboratively with other staff members and volunteers to ensure its smooth operation. This role is a unique opportunity for an experienced and action-oriented individual to further BAWA’s lifesaving efforts by fostering relationships with donors, adopters, and other key stakeholders using the highest ethical standards for fundraising.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Designing and implementing diverse fundraising strategies to meet annual revenue targets, including but not limited to: direct response, major gifts, corporate sponsorships and support, foundation grants, annual giving, board giving, planned giving, and special events.

Personally managing with management, all individual fundraising activity, including maintaining the development calendar, identifying and prioritizing prospects, preparing proposals.

Serving as a liaison to the Board of Directors and managing their fundraising efforts.
Cultivating and nurturing relationships with current and potential corporate sponsors; writing applications and mail-shots, using direct mailing to reach a wider range of potential and current donors.

Assisting with special event planning and soliciting event sponsorships as needed.
Providing regular progress reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors as requested.

General duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends within the animal welfare field.
  • Maintain ongoing communications with the Executive Director and fellow managers to ensure consistent messaging and to the maximize impact of marketing and fundraising campaigns.
  • Promote a humane and caring attitude toward all animals and treat all animals humanely, properly and with compassion at all times, including those that are sick, injured, feral or aggressive.
  • Maintain a calm, pleasant, tactful, and professional demeanor at all times when dealing with the public, even in stressful situations.
  • Work courteously and cooperatively with staff and volunteers; foster an environment of effective teamwork; affect public relations beneficial to BAWA and its programs; and perform duties in a manner which encourages attainment of goals, contributions and business for BAWA.
  • Organising activities, such as sponsored outdoor events and house-to-house collections of donated goods and money including donation box.
  • Manage and update databases to record all information including donation box database and report.
Physical Requirements:No allergic conditions which would be aggravated when handling or working with animals.
Must love and want to help animals.
Educational Requirements:Having minimum Bachelor degree
Specific Job Skills Required:
  • Speak and write English & Bahasa fluently
  • A deep knowledge of and passion for BAWA mission and program areas.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ fundraising experience, preferably in animal welfare organizations, with a successful track record of achieving results and meeting goals.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ideal candidate is personable, outgoing, patient, and able to discuss BAWA mission, programs and fundraising goals with clarity, passion, and persuasion.
  • Proven success in building respectful and effective relationships with a culturally diverse community of volunteers, colleagues, and donors.
  • Affection for animals, concern for their welfare, and a willingness to accommodate them in the work place.
  • Strong sense of initiative, organization, and ability to problem-solve, identifying tasks that need to be accomplished and prioritizing appropriately, working independently with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Maturity, empathy, flexibility, good judgment and a professional personal appearance.
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally.
  • Computer proficient (Microsoft Office, constituent relationship management databases).
  • Must be willing to work in Ubud, Bali
