Director of Communications
Location: Ottawa, Canada, with international travel
We are now seeking a new Director of Communications to enhance our positioning, reputation and effectiveness in Canada and abroad, through marketing, branding and corporate communications.
Reporting to the head of the Advocacy and Communications unit, you will provide strategic and creative direction to a talented and high performing communications team and provide guidance to a wider international team. Our core communications strategies include corporate and internal communications, traditional media relations, social and digital media engagement, global event and mission planning, knowledge and web management, branding, and marketing and partnerships.
With a collaborative approach, you will work closely with colleagues across our senior and executive teams including the Chief Executive, the Director of Advocacy and the Project Director, Strategy and Growth. A highly effective leader and people manager, you bring expertise at senior level in a global communications position and have experience of working outside Canada. Your experience may have been gained from working in an international organisation or managing communications initiatives with both domestic and global audiences.
Candidates must have the right to work in Canada to apply for the position.
Fluency in French will be an advantage. Experience of the development sector is highly desirable but not essential.
