For our Fair Trade USA Shrimp Aquaculture Program in Sumatra, Indonesia, we are seeking to fill a new position, starting August 2019. The position will be based in Lampung, Sumatra, Indonesia.
Fair Trade Project Implementation Manager Indonesia Full Time (100%)
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a global mindset and high level of discipline to create results in an efficient and effective manner, with high standards for the quality of their deliverables. You will be managing our Fair Trade USA Aquaculture shrimp program in Indonesia, working with farmers, farming communities, and the participating private sector partners to secure the long term success of this program.
Your specific responsibilities and tasks:
- Project management for the implementation of the Fair Trade USA shrimp aquaculture program
- Outreach and engagement of shrimp farmers and farming communities for participation in the program
- Organize and support the building of fair trade farming associations
- Conduct capacity building and workshops with farmers and farming communities
- Maintain documentation and financial records of fair trade associations
- Implementation of Fair Trade USA standards and safeguard audit compliance
- Organization and facilitation of annual auditing and verification process
- Collaboration and coordination with the local seafood manufacturing partner
Who You Are
You are an Indonesian national interested in working in Indonesia in the context of global market transformation towards socially responsible and sustainable seafood supply chains. You are an entrepreneurial, innovative, energetic and socially oriented person with at least 10 years of demonstrable working experience in a professional environment. You have an intrinsic desire to create more benefits for local shrimp farming communities in Indonesia and to improve the livelihood of farmers and their families through participation in more equitable international trade. In addition to a preferably-international degree in environmental or social science, you should bring several years of professional experience in the private sector, either in Indonesia or abroad.
Your motivating and collaborative nature makes you a good team player. At the same time, you can work independently and take responsibility for the completion of tasks. You are interested in working on social, community-oriented topics in Indonesia, respecting local cultures and traditions. You are able to travel frequently and for prolonged periods within Indonesia. Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia is a must, and good communication skills in English is preferred. Sound knowledge of MS Office and social media platforms is required.
