The WWF climate change adaptation team seeks an intern to assist in 2 projects this fall semester:
- Assessing the vulnerabilities of our global priority species to a changing climate, using a newly developed WWF methodology. This will involve extensive research related to different aspects of each species’ biology.
- Assessing how rural communities in Africa are coping and adapting to changes in weather and climate. This too will involve extensive research of the existing literature on this issue, as well as creation of a database.
The successful applicant will meet the following requirements:
- Working towards a master’s or Ph.D. degree in a related field such as conservation biology, ecology, environmental studies, or climate change.
- Demonstrated knowledge of climate change adaptation issues, including impacts of, and responses to, climate change.
- Demonstrated knowledge in ecology/evolution, at the gene, species, community and ecosystem levels.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills, including extensive use of search engines such as Web of Science.
- Proficiency with MS Office, as well as Adobe Acrobat and other publishing software
- Ability to work efficiently and independently, in person at the WWF US Headquarters in Washington DC
- Fluent in English
