EFI was founded in March 2015 by PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia, Tbk and since April 2021 has transformed by positioning itself as an independent foundation that focuses on Mobilizing Indonesia's next generation to advance Indonesian agriculture with two main objectives: (1) farmers learn, innovate and adopting better agricultural management practices, supported by access to capital and (2) young people and experts working together with farmers to increase agricultural productivity.

Job Summary:
Government Relations Associates will play a crucial role in building and maintaining positive relationships between the organization and government entities. This position requires a keen understanding of public policy, strong communication skills, and the ability to navigate the complexities of government relations.

Key Responsibilities:

Government Outreach:
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with government officials, agencies, and key stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization in meetings, hearings, and other forums with government entities.  
Monitoring Legislation and Policy:
  • Stay informed about relevant legislative and regulatory developments at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Analyze proposed laws and policies to assess their potential impact on the organization. 
Advocacy & Compliance:
  • Develop and present clear and compelling advocacy positions to support the organization's goals. 
  • Provide guidance to internal teams on compliance matters related to government relations. 
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and insights for effective government relations strategies.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including industry associations and advocacy groups. 
Issues Management:
  • Identify potential issues and risks related to government relations and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Work proactively to address and resolve any challenges that may arise. 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in government relations, public affairs, or a related field.
  • Passion for food security, agriculture, and stunting/health issues is a plus point.
  • Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a news/ media company is a plus point.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with government officials and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and issues is a plus.
  • Proficiency in crafting detailed and compelling proposals to get the projects from the related ministries and other local governments.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Enthusiasm for staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging marketing technologies.
