Director of Operations
£50-55k pa • Bristol • 35 hours per week • Benefits
We wish to
appoint a Director of Operations to lead the development and delivery of
TREE AID’s programmes in Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Mali, Ghana and Niger.
This is a
great opportunity to bring transformational change to some of the
world’s poorest people. TREE AID works in the drylands of Africa, using
agroforestry to relieve poverty and protect the environment. We are
unique in what we do and have great potential and ambition to grow. The
Director of Operations will be critical to this success.
The Director of Operations’ key objectives will be to:
- Provide programme direction and guidance to deliver TREE AID’s ambitious strategy for growth and impact, including oversight of TREE AID’s social enterprise.
- Performance manage the Operations team in the UK, Ethiopia and West Africa and strengthen capacity to deliver our programme of work effectively and efficiently.
- Provide leadership through the Senior Management Team for organisational development and continuous improvement.
You will
have a strong understanding of international development and the
interface between poverty and the environment along with proven
experience of programme development and management in Sub-Saharan
Africa.
With
excellent analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to use your
understanding of the policy environment in development, you will build
effective relationships with funding bodies, development agencies and
research institutions. You will be a self-starter, able to identify
opportunities and to deliver on them.
