People in Need (PIN) from the Czech Republic, supports people in
emergencies, both in crises of war as well as in areas affected by
natural disasters, and in places where it is hard for people to break
out of the vicious circle of poverty without support. PIN deal with
longer-term problems overseas such as the shortage of safe water,
restricted access to good-quality education and health services or
environmental degradation. Development cooperation and humanitarian work
comprises efforts to help people in their attempts to escape poverty
and ensure further development. People in Need often follows up on its
humanitarian activities with development projects in order to help
prevent future crises and mitigate their negative impacts.
PIN's Relief and Development Section operate in twenty-two countries, with permanent offices in fifteen of them. Every year it carries out projects worth millions of Euros for thousands of people born in less fortunate parts of our planet.
PIN is implementing a number of projects in Moldova focusing on supporting the development of agriculture in Moldova. For this project PIN is seeking:
Program Manager for Agriculture
Length and Type of Engagement: March/April 2016 – December 2017 (with the possibility of extension), full-time
Place of Work: Chisinau with frequent travel around Moldova
Job Description: Program manager will - in close cooperation with the Country Director - be responsible for supervising all project activities of projects supporting the development of agriculture in Moldova, with special focus on organic agriculture. Project activities include: managing multiple agricultural projects of PIN, support and design of training of farmers and establishment of farmers’ associations, building the capacity of institutions providing services for farmers, managing a small-grant/loan scheme, raising awareness on organic agriculture, linking producers to markets and initiating a multi-stakeholder working group on organic agriculture in Moldova
The candidate should have experience with project management, and knowledge in the field of (organic) agriculture. He/she has leadership, time-management and coordination skills and will be able to work independently. English and Russian communication skills are a strong advantage.

Requirements:
- 3 years’ work experience with project management
- Experience with implementing capacity building projects and experience in cooperation with various stakeholders (farmers as well as businesses, NGOs and public authorities)
- Knowledge of Moldovan or international agricultural sector
- Proven personal and social skills
- Excellent Romanian and Russian, English communication skills
- Experience with organic agriculture is strong advantage
