THE POSITION
LOCATION: UBUD, BALI (HEADQUARTERS)

We are currently recruiting a highly talented, motivated, creative Communications Officer to support Kopernik’s communications team in crafting communications materials that share our message more effectively, with an emphasis on visualising data.

This position calls for a creative mind to conceptualise, design and develop compelling communications materials using extensive data visualisation techniques, working to engage and excite target audiences and mobilising support to help Kopernik serve more people in the last mile.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Qualification in Media and Communication, Information Design and Visualisation, or degree in a relevant discipline, with at least two years professional experience.
  • Strong ability to contribute to the creation of compelling data-driven stories and articles - offering both your conceptual and data visualisation skills.
  • Ability to critically analyse proposed content and offer valuable opinions and suggestions for improvement.
  • Ability to produce digital, print and video communications piece in accordance with the brand styleguide
  • Experience with using multiple visualization software, platforms, and processes, including Microsoft Office Suite, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, with an emphasis in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere.
  • Knowledge of web design and an understanding of concepts in interactive visualisation and informatics design.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites or events, capturing compelling stories, still images and video footage as required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and multicultural environment and deliver projects to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Indonesian.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-work skills.
  • Positive attitude, hardworking, reliable, motivated, and passionate about social impact.
  • Clear understanding of social entrepreneurships and innovations and experience working in development sector an advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and develop data visualisations, infographics, motion graphics, video, print materials and other communications pieces.
  • Work closely with a team of analysts and writers to produce compelling stories with strong supporting data visualisation.  
  • Ensure all materials are consistent with Kopernik’s branding guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest effective communications trends and best practices, and actively share insights with the communications team.
  • Support strong internal communications within the Kopernik team.
  • Actively look for new opportunities to profile Kopernik’s work and expand our audience.
  • Actively support a strong culture of knowledge-sharing, cooperation, and teamwork.
  • Deliver communications training to program and field-based staff as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
