Senior Program Manager
Location: Jakarta

OVERVIEW:
The Senior Program Manager who will provide overall administrative and operations management for an anticipated five-year USAID- funded maternal and newborn health (MNH) project in Indonesia. He or she will work closely with the Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) on the oversight of day-to-day implementation, reporting, and monitoring of the project. The Senior Program Manager will play a significant role in ensuring that the project is implemented in accordance with the contract and USAID regulations.

This position is contingent upon funding.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the DCOP in programmatic leadership, planning of activities in support of the program goals and objectives, ensuring implementation of programmatic priorities, and communication with USAID
  • Contribute to project planning, implementation and management, ensuring the project’s administrative integrity
  • Lead the development of timely, accurate and appropriate reporting of project activities and results, including quarterly progress and annual reports
  • Closely monitor progress toward achieving workplan targets. Develop and modify as necessary the annual workplans and budget
  • Coordinate closely with and mentor field-based project managers to ensure monitoring of workplans and budgets and quality reporting.
  • Design and oversee program management policies and processes
  • Guide the analysis, synthesis, and reporting of project outcomes and results
  • Maintain productive and consistent communication with program and technical staff
  • Represent the project and Jhpiego/Indonesia interests in public and professional circles through meetings, conference, and presentations
  • Serve as Acting DCOP as needed
Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in public health, health administration, public administration, business administration, or related degree
  • 7 years of mid- to senior-level experience implementing and managing complex donor-funded public health programs
  • Experience working in an international context in maternal and newborn health
  • Proven leadership skills and expertise in the management of health programs and program staff
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement efficient program management processes and systems
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively managing project reporting process
  • Excellent, writing and oral presentation skills, including report writing and dissemination
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in a multi-cultural environment
  • In-depth understanding of USAID regulations and compliance
  • Written and spoken fluency in English; conversational ability in Indonesian language is preferred
  • Ability to travel in Indonesia and internationally
