The Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) is the world’s leading organization on financial inclusion policy and regulation comprising 113 central banks, ministries of finance and other financial regulators from more than 90 developing and emerging countries. Through providing the member institutions with the opportunity for peer learning and technical knowledge exchange on key aspects of financial inclusion policy and regulation, AFI supports substantive policy reforms, which results in expanding the reach of quality financial services to the poor.

Over the past years the field of financial inclusion has seen much progress globally, and AFI has successfully transitioned to a member-owned independent organization delivering concrete results and thereby using a highly successful, value-based model for international cooperation. Technological advances in mobile connectivity and data analytics continue to drive progress and have paved the way for new partnerships with the private sector and development partners. AFI now faces a changing global financial inclusion landscape with a multiplicity of initiatives, convening fora and platforms addressing different aspects of financial inclusion, with some overlaps and even competition, but has now the accumulated member knowledge, experience and expertise to step into the role of providing technical excellence and policy leadership at the global level.

Given these ambitions and opportunities to establish itself as the financial inclusion policy reference of choice not only for policymakers and regulators, but also the private sector, global stakeholders, potential funders and the media, AFI needs to significantly improve its brand and communications outreach capacity.
