AKF,A currently manages and implements the largest, multi-sectoral development programme within the network and has built a strong reputation with the Government of Afghanistan, donors and local partners in a number of technical fields. At present, it is seeking an exceptional individual to fill the position of Structural Engineer at its National Program Office Kabul – Afghanistan

Job Summary: Keep a high level of competence in technical survey, design and planning of different infrastructure projects in AKF Afg’s working areas.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: • Lead independently all structural design related activities of various infrastructure projects (mainly buildings and bridges). • Assist on project planning and technical survey. • Prepare detail estimation of various infrastructure projects. • Guide draft-persons for preparing proper structural design drawings. • Monitor different infrastructure projects in AKF’s working areas • Other related tasks given by the National Engineering Manager.

Required Qualifications and Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Design specialization; • Minimum three years experience in designing of R.C.C. structures (building and bridges), Steel trusses and Retaining structures; • Excellent knowledge of surveying; • Excellent knowledge of Ms Office especially Excel functions, SAP 2000. • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD. • Fair knowledge about civil engineering aspects, like estimations and contracting procedures; • Excellent spoken and written English skills; knowledge of Dari and/or Pashto will be an advantage; • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; • Good team player with ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues; • Experience working in a multicultural environment, preferably in a post-conflict one; • Willingness to live and work in a post-conflict zone
