PROGRAM/ DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:
Global Treasury provides for banking products and services, loan agreements and compliance, and property and liability, Director and Officer insurance policies, among other services, to Mercy Corps offices. The Risk Analyst fills a significant role in monitoring the Agency’s exposure to world-wide risks involving our employees, property, and then working to find the best solutions to mitigate those risks.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
This position will be based in Portland, OR. This position will be 50-75% FTE.
Mercy Corps Team members represent the agency both during and outside of work hours when deployed in a field posting or on a visit/TDY to a field posting. Team members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and respect local laws, customs and MC's policies, procedures, and values at all times and in all in-country venues.

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
To provide support for the Treasury and Risk Management functions at Mercy Corps.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Act as liaison with broker representative with respect to renewal and new insurance policy applications.
- Collect all risk reporting data and supply to broker representative.
- Collect and analyze all information necessary for policy renewals and claims, as well as new policy applications, including data on domestic and international field locations, property ownership and values, office headcounts, incident reporting, etc.
- Primary responsibility for processing claims, including data gathering, drafting and submissions of reports to carriers and/or broker representatives and responding to request s for claim information from the fields, carrier, and/or broker representative. Assist with processing of large claims. Maintain complete, adequate and up to date claims records.
- Periodically survey field offices regarding risk management needs and make recommendations to supervisor.
- Respond to routine coverage questions and obtain Certificates of Insurance as necessary.
- Proactively seek guidance and solutions to opportunities for improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- An Associate degree or equivalent is preferred.
- The candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in risk management (non H/R).
- Effective written and verbal communication, multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritization skills are necessary.
- The candidate should have experience working with Microsoft office products including Word, Excel, and Power Point. Experience in multi-national organizations, especially non-profits, is a plus.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines, and work cooperatively with team members is required.
- Effectively analyze Mercy Corps insurance program, policies and procedures and making recommendations for improvement.
- Develop communication lines between affiliates and field offices to ensure proactive assistance to all Mercy Corps departments and to ensure that risks are identified.
- Self-manage the risk management functions’ daily needs as well as continuous reviews for improvement.
