Enterprise Development Programme Regional Coordinator - Asia

Based in Regional Centre, Bangkok, Thailand

National Post C2, Fixed term 2 years contract

Starting salary THB 74,000 – 88,000 gross per month

Benefits: bonus, provident fund, medical, life and travel insurance cover, 20+ annual leave days depending on the years of service

You don’t stop poverty with quick fixes. That’s why Oxfam’s Enterprise Development Programme (EDP) provides small businesses in the developing world with skills and advice as well as financing. We give people what they need to break free of poverty and, as a Coordinator, you’ll pull it all together.

The role
Based in Bangkok, but travelling extensively throughout the region, this role will see you coordinate the Asia portfolio of Oxfam’s EDP. That means supporting our staff and local partners as well as the businesses themselves as they plan, implement and track each project. You’ll also make the most of specialised tools to assess potential investments and work closely with both regional experts and our global Investment Committee to inform their decisions. Beyond that, you’ll take the lead in fund sourcing, undertake and commission research projects and build relationships with everyone from investment think tanks to philanthropic groups and strategic research institutions. All while developing a sound investment portfolio for the programme and rising to the challenges presented by working across a multitude of diverse cultures.

What we’re looking for
As well as having strong financial management skills and considerable experience in investment or SME finance, it’s absolutely essential that you’re committed to gender equality and women’s rights. In fact, on top of a relevant financial management and investment knowledge, you’ll have a background in gendered market analysis. You’ll also bring us knowledge of enterprise development and rights-based poverty alleviation programming and you’ll show strong project management, analytical and reporting abilities. Plus, with your flexibility, creativity and interpersonal skills, you’ll adapt well to changeable work environments. More than that, with extensive experience of developing economies in Asia, you’ll be up to speed with the regional socio-economic situation.

This is a national hired post. We will not be able to provide visa and work permit to a non-Thai national.
