Summary of Position:The Strategic Development Coordinator is responsible for all administrative and communication aspects of the Strategic Development department. The Coordinator also plays a critically important role in all fundraising activities; including donor and public relations, direct mail and online appeals, and special events. The Strategic Development Coordinator reports to the Vice President, Strategic Development.

Responsibilities
Administrative: Provide full administrative support to members of the Strategic Development department; • Maintain all files for Strategic Development donors and prospects, including online and internal files; • Conduct weekly comparison of Finance Department’s revenue records with Strategic Development’s records and ensure discrepancies are explained or corrected; • Create bi-monthly fundraising reports and other database reports as needed; • Continually update and correct database records; • Conduct and file preliminary research on prospective and new donors; • Work with HR to hire and manage interns

Communication: Plan fundraising events and acquire sponsorships, including the annual Common Ground Awards • Take charge of the production and mailing of appeal letters; • Process gifts and prepare acknowledgement letters and any related correspondence; • Oversee and implement 48-hour personal donor thank you policy; • Develop and assemble donor packets for events and meetings; • Receive RSVPs, prepare registration materials and other assigned duties for events; • Lead and manage the strategy for online fundraising (including social media) with guidelines from the Communications Department) • Manage donor-SFCG webinars • Manage and ensure collaboration with the Communications team
Other: • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Strategic Development.

Minimum Qualifications
Essential: • Bachelor’s Degree; • Minimum three years’ professional experience in Communications, Public Relations, Development, or related field; • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral; • Solid internet research skills • Self-motivated organizer with excellent attention to detail; • Ability to prioritize work while working independently; • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and tight deadlines; • Ability to identify and solve problems on an immediate basis; • Professional appearance and manner; • Team-player and positive personality; • Highly motivated and energetic; • Punctual, reliable and dependable; • Strong work ethic, sound judgment, personal discretion, and ability to work with confidential information; • A good sense of humor goes a long way. • Ability to work within a small team. • Self-starter.

Desirable: • Experience in an administrative position, preferably in a non-profit development office • Database management experience • Knowledge of Information Technology systems • Interest and knowledge in conflict resolution
