AgriProFocus Job Vacancy: Executive & Communications Assistant - Netherlands

AgriProFocus is an international network with Dutch roots that promotes and drives agri-entrepreneurship to contribute to food security and economic development in low and middle income countries. Our network is active in the Netherlands as a partnership with 35 member organisations consisting of private sector, civil society organisations, knowledge institutes and government. Outside the Netherlands we have 12 country networks in Africa and Asia.

For our team in Arnhem, the Netherlands we are looking for a full-time, enthusiastic and creative Executive & Communications Assistant. In this job you will work 50% as Executive Assistant and 50% as Communications Assistant.

Job description:
  • You offer executive support to our Managing Director and Director of Programmes: calendar management, drafting of letters, handling phone calls and correspondence.
  • You liaise with the AgriProFocus Board, Participants Council, Working Groups and external contacts as extension of the Managing Director.
  • You conduct the secretariat for various meetings: draft the agenda and prepare meetings. Take minutes of meetings and monitor progress of agreements.
  • You act as the back-up for the Office Manager during her absence.
  • You assist with the organisation of (international) events: promotion, planning and preparation.
  • You are the community manager of the AgriProFocus online platform: pro-active interaction with users and posting events and news on a daily basis.
  • You coordinate the AgriProFocus social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, MailChimp a.o.) and monitor the accounts of our member organisations for relevant information.
  • You are responsible for all printed materials (brochures, banners etc.).
  • You co-create the development and implementation of worldwide communication strategy, together with the Marketing & Communications Manager.
We ask:
  • HBO working level and around 5 years of prior work experience in a similar position in an international environment.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English is required, French is considered an advantage.
  • You are interested in international development, agribusiness and (online) communication.
  • You are ‘digital-savvy’: Microsoft Office 365 and various social media tools have no secrets for you. Knowledge of MailChimp, Google Analytics and InDesign are an advantage.
  • You have strong organisational and planning skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and activities.
  • You are able to work effectively both independently and as a team member. You have a pro-active and flexible attitude.
