South Pole Group Vacancy: Senior Climate Change and Land - Jakarta, Indonesian

Job Description
As Senior Climate Change & Land-use Consultant you will lead the acquisition, coordination and management of consultancy assignments related to climate change, forestry, agriculture and land use, supply chain sustainability and natural resource management, including Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV) systems design and implementation. You will coordinate international and interdisciplinary project teams of internal and external experts, as well as directly work on the deliverables of the assignments. As Senior Consultant you will ensure that the quality and deadlines required by the client are met.

Tasks and responsibilities
  • Planning, coordination and management of projects and consultancy mandates related to climate change, forestry, agriculture and land use, supply chain sustainability and natural resource management, including Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV) systems design and implementation.
  • Leading of assignment-specific, international teams composed of internal and external experts and organisations
  • Liaising with clients on a project basis.
  • Supporting the acquisition of new mandates through the preparation and submission of high quality proposals.
  • Delivering high-quality consultancy reports to clients in English.
Job Requirements
  • A university degree, ideally in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, Forestry, Natural Resource Economics, Agriculture or related disciplines.
  • Proven expertise in forestry, agriculture, land use REDD+, and climate change policies and finance.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in project management and consultancy, for public sector as well as for corporate clients.
  • Strong network in relevant fields.
  • Excellent oral and written command of English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Good skills in basic statistics and advanced use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Extensive coordination, planning and project management skills as well as proposal/report writing and presentation skills. 
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) skills are a strong asset.
  • Diligent, reliable and independent approach to work and ability to act as a team leader in a multicultural environment.
