Job Description:

Reporting
to Enhancing Nutrition Services to Improve Maternal and Child Health
(ENRICH) Chief of Party and Born On Time (BOT) Program Director, this
position will support ENRICH and Born On Time projects in Bangladesh,
Kenya, Myanmar, Pakistan, Tanzania and Ethiopia. The role will be based
at the World Vision Canada office in Mississauga, Canada.



Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring gender mainstreaming throughout the two projects.
  • Evaluations and results based management frameworks.
  • Developing, strengthening and supporting comprehensive and tangible gender equality strategies and action plans.
  • Facilitating gender equality capacity building for field teams via training and/or tool development.
  • Contributing to project knowledge management and learning related to gender equality.
  • Ongoing
    responsibilities include high quality technical support, both remotely
    and via travel to work with field teams as well as active participation
    in Canada-based technical working groups.
  • The Gender Advisor will have 85% and 15% of time allocated to ENRICH and BOT programs respectively.

Job Requirements:

  • Master
    degree in International Development / Relations, Women and Gender
    Studies or related field, or equivalent training/experience.
  • 5
    – 10 years’ field work experience implementing, managing, and/or
    providing technical assistance to programs in developing countries,
    including with focus on gender mainstreaming/gender focused programs;
    focus on child and adolescent programming desirable.
  • Knowledge
    of gender equality principles and practices; demonstrated knowledge of
    the Government of Canada gender equality policy and approach desirable.
  • Experience with gender-sensitive Health and Nutrition Programs.
  • Experience in gender advocacy or policy work.
  • Demonstrated
    thought leadership expertise such as contributions to academic
    journals, books, articles; speaking engagements, leading conference
    presentations and panels
  • Is innovative, develops new ideas, and demonstrates adaptability.
  • Ability
    to synthesize and develop high-quality knowledge products from diverse
    data sources including programmatic materials and tools; outstanding
    gender analysis skills.
  • Strong
    communication and interpersonal skills to develop good working
    relationships across cultural and organizational boundaries with
    internal and external stakeholders, and managing through influence.
  • Excellent English communication and writing skills; proficiency in other languages considered an asset.
  • Comfortable
    working independently with little supervision, as well as with
    receiving and accounting for direction and engaging as part of a dynamic
    team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Valid passport and ability and comfort to travel to national and international locations.
