WWF International Job Vacancy: Responsible Forest Officer, Pontianak - Indonesian

WWF-IDN is currently seeking for the best candidate for the position of: Responsible Forest Officer, Pontianak.

This position will be based in Pontianak and report to Pawan-Kubu Landseascape Leader. The job holder will be responsible to provide operational support for WWF Indonesia through responsibilities in the areas related to the issues of forestry, mangrove, pulp&paper, and palm-oil in West-Kalimantan especially in Pawan-Kubu landseascape: 
  • Program Monitoring and Advocacy in West Kalimantan in achieving reforms in the forestry; pulp&paper; and palm, to the sustainable management practices. The job holder is responsible to assist Pawan-Kubu Landseascape Leader (including activities in the program of Eyes on the Forest [EoF]) ranging from planning, implementing to monitoring. The job holder is also responsible to influence and coordinate with business partners in West-Kalimantan’s priority areas to implement best concession management practice. The allocated time for performing the responsibilities for Pawan-Kubu landseascape and EoF program will be 40:60. 
  • Strengthen and establish networking with civilian network in monitoring deforestation and forest degradation. 
  • Strengthen landseascape management of Pawan-Kubu in Kubu Raya district as an area to ensure the connectivity of WWF-Indonesia’a priority landseascape in West-Kalimantan.
Requirements for This Position are:
  • Bachelor Degree from Forestry, Geography or other related major as well as having relevant skills and abilities for the position
  • Minimum of 5 year experiences in forest management
