Christian Aid Myanmar has expertise in strengthening civil society, peacebuilding, community health, resilient livelihoods, and emergency preparedness and response. Conflict and gender sensitivity cuts across our programme. We work with local partners to meet the needs of the poorest and most vulnerable communities and advocate for the rights and aspirations of all. We provide grants, technical and strategic support, mentoring and accompaniment to partners based on their needs.

About the role
The Head of Programmes (HoP) will provide senior management support and strategic oversight to the country programme. HoP will be directly responsible for programmatic delivery, programme quality, value for money and timely reporting of the projects. The position includes managing a team and the ability to provide technical inputs and managerial inputs and will ensure effective management and development for the programme and appropriate support for partners. S/he will convene regular review meetings with all partner agencies and programme staff. The post represents Christian Aid where appropriate, liaises and networks with relevant actors related to the programme. It is expected that HoP will engage closely with relevant donors and other important stakeholders. The role will be responsible for strategic planning and will identify new opportunities with the support of Country Director.

Salary outlined is gross per annum plus expatriate benefits applicable for international (non-local) applicants. Taxes will apply as per the law.

About you
You should have experience working with a diverse portfolio of partners and in consortiums. You have experience meeting the compliance and reporting requirements of institutional donors. Your expertise on programme management includes inclusion, accountability, gender and power analysis, human rights.  You posses sound understanding of the Myanmar context, the drivers of conflict and the ongoing National peace process. You have good understanding of the international donor environment, strong networking skills and proven experience on fund raising and have experience of working with governments and other important stakeholders. You possess strong training, facilitation and consensus- building skills and strong cross-cultural communication skills.
