USAID Lestari Project Job Vacancy: Aceh Tenggara Landscape Coordinator, Gayo Lues - Indonesian

Tetra Tech ARD is currently accepting expressions of interest for the Aceh Tenggara Landscape Coordinator, Gayo Lues based on our USAID LESTARI project. USAID’s LESTARI project supports the Government of Indonesia to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and conserve biodiversity in carbon rich and biologically significant forest and mangrove ecosystems.
Job Summary: The Landscape Coordinator is the lead LESTARI representative working on a day-to-day basis with government, NGO, community and other partners to communicate a clear vision for the LESTARI landscape approach and to garner commitment and leadership from landscape partners to take tangible steps in climate change mitigation and biodiversity conservation commitments. S/he is responsible for the organization and integration of the technical elements (staff, subcontracts and partners) implementing the ambitious LESTARI project to achieve efficient and synchronized teamwork in the pursuit of project goals. This include coordinates activity implementation in the landscape with the technical and administrative support teams located in Jakarta and other designated partners. As a member of the landscape technical team, s/he also serves as the Landscape Forest and Biodiversity Conservation Specialist and responsible for project activities that improve protected area management capacity - through building political leadership that leads to action on the ground, adopting Ministry of Environment & Forestry sanctioned monitoring and evaluation systems, and improving support from stakeholders around the CA through collaborative management approaches in her/his landscape.
Requirements include previous experience in a similar position for USAID project or other international donor projects, private sector, or GOI; in depth knowledge of the assigned landscape; in depth understanding of governance and or forestry including biodiversity; familiar with land use, conservation and climate change issues, is an advantage; native fluency in spoken and written Indonesian; professional competency in spoken and written English; strong written and verbal communications skills; familiar with USAID procedures and regulations is an advantage; willing to work and travel intensively and extensively in the field; demonstrated ability to play collegial and leadership roles working on multi-disciplinary teams; and has Indonesian Nationality. University degree in related field required.
