WWF Indonesia Job Vacancy: Sustainable Forest Commodities Officer, Palangkaraya - Central Kalimantan

WWF-ID is currently seeking for the best candidate for the position of Sustainable Forest Commodities Officer.

This position will be based in Palangkaraya and report to Central Kalimantan Community & Outreach Rattan Field Senior Officer. The job holder will be responsible to provide operational support in terms of responsibilities related to rattan issues, agriculture and forest commodities in the area of rattan management project and KPHP Unit XVII in Katingan landscape by:
  • Implementing and facilitating the development of base-line data regarding the sustainable rattan management in both its initial management areas and expanded areas for local farming community in Katingan landscape as well as ensuring the project implementation and management in KPHP Katingan Kahayan Unit XVII
  • Facilitating and engaging in the capacity building process for stakeholders which includes the government official, local forest and agriculture entrepreneur in Katingan landscape
  • Building partnership with related parties to develop the scheme of SC/FM-COC certification and to maintain the protection of High Conservation Value Forest (HCVF) by implementing the approach of responsible forest commodities and market transformation best practice
  • Strengthening Katingan landscape management as an area to ensure the priority landscape connectivity of WWF-Indonesia in North Kalimantan
Requirements for This Position are:
  • Bachelor degree from Forestry, Development Economics, Geography or other relevant majors with experiences and expertise related to the position
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in forest management as well as assisting local farmer community
