GIZ Job Vacancy: Intern on Data & Knowledge Management, Jakarta - Indonesian

GIZ through Energizing Development Indonesia (EnDev Indonesia) project has been working in renewable energy sector for over seven years (since 2009) and has implemented a series of capacity building activities and technical support for more than 600 renewable energy based power plants, initiated by various ministries, including the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, and Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs.

Since 2016, EnDev focuses its support towards institutionalisation of the lessons learned and methods that have been developed in the past years. EnDev Indonesia has been developing knowledge and communication platforms to be anchored on the partner institution’s platform.

An online map, and a database to store data of the rural energy site details since 2012. Due to increasing complexity and magnitude of the data gathered, there is a critical need to update and refine the current data as well as the online dissemination of knowledge products.

EnDev is seeking one qualified Indonesian candidate for the following position: Intern on Data & Knowledge Management

Responsibilities
The incumbent is to support the project to update and refine data related to the platforms as well as to manage the online dissemination of existing knowledge products.

Tasks

  • Data entry of up to 300 sites to RE-Map.
  • Recheck the data quality of existing and new data.
  • Update the obsolete or incorrect data through phone-survey or data consolidation among many sources.
  • Support the uploading process of knowledge products on project website and internal server.
  • Keep the activity log, including the changes made during updating process.
  • Support the project in formulating recommendation for system monitoring and knowledge management for renewable energy sector in Indonesia.
Deliverables
The incumbent will deliver the following output:

  • Updated and corrected data on RE-Map.
  • Updated knowledge products uploaded on project website.
  • A written report of maximum 10 pages in English about the activities, brief analysis about monitoring and knowledge management, and the lessons learned.
  • Final presentation.
Required qualifications and competences
  • Currently studying at university or college majoring information system, statistics, or other department with relevant courses on data management;
  • Interested in the development of energy sector;
  • Very good at data management;
  • Very good at working with Excel;
  • Very good at and social media platforms;
  • Female students are also encouraged to apply.
Duty Station: Jakarta

Working Hours: 5 working days per week, 8 working hours per day

Expected Internship Period: January 2018 and work for two working months (equals to approximately 48 working days)
