About the Program: On Friday September 28, powerful earthquakes shook Indonesia, triggering a tsunami with ten-foot waves. The events devastated the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, killing over 2,045 while injuring and displacing thousands more. Homes, public buildings, roads, bridges—destroyed. Project HOPE has responded to emergencies around the world, tackling urgent public health challenges and empowering local health workers with the training and tools needed to save the most lives.

PURPOSE: Consultant will be responsible for Managing our relief and recovery efforts in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia

Specific Objectives:
  • Serve as Yayasan Project HOPE’s official focal point in country for emergency response, ensuring proper coordination with authorities, civil society, and private sector, and full engagement with appropriate coordination mechanisms 
  • Provide strategic direction to the ongoing growth of the response effort through continuous rapid needs assessments and prioritization of interventions based on need, Yayasan Project HOPE capacity, and available resources. 
  • Manage emergency response team staff and volunteers, developing an organizational structure and filling key positions to establish a fully functioning country mission capable of high level, sustained program from the relief through the recovery phases of the response. 
  • Ensure the regular production of quality situational and programmatic reports, closely tracking deliverables. Ensure needs identified are communicated quickly and clearly to support country team driven resource mobilization. Support the Yayasan Project HOPE Communications Department through the provision of pictures and impact stories to convey Yayasan Project HOPE’s successes to a broad audience. 
  • Provide overall financial and administrative management of the response effort, building and maintaining budgets, tracking HR rotations, and ensuring accounting procedures, cash management, and procurement activities are conducted in accordance with Yayasan Project HOPE processes. 
  • Ensure accountability to affected populations through the inclusion of local community members and representatives at all stages of the project cycle.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or more preferable Master Degree in Public Health or relevant with over 3 years of experience in Management Emergency Response Project
  • Having capability of writing programme report
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning and coordination skill
  • Fluently in English, Bahasa and the local languages
  • Flexible, able to multi-task, able to work independently and work well under pressure as a team player in a multicultural environment 
  • Coaching and team buiding skills essential
  • Computer literacy particularly MS Office and Email
