Brief Description:
Position Description: Resonance is recruiting for an Engagement Coordinator for a consultancy to support the PSLA team in Indonesia. The Indonesia PSLA activity is currently in start-up and would run through the end of December, with the team in Indonesia from November 28 – December 14. We are looking for part-time support before and after the trip and full-time support during the trip.

Project Description: The U.S. Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) is exploring opportunities to collaborate with the private sector in the humanitarian space. As part of this process, Resonance is supporting OFDA through the U.S. Global Development Lab’s Center for Transformational Partnerships’ (CTP) Promoting Excellence in Private Sector Engagement (PEPSE) program to conduct a private sector landscape analysis (PSLAs) that identify private sector engagement (PSE) and partnership opportunities in Indonesia as well as provide recommendations action-oriented recommendations for next steps. These opportunities and recommendations will align with OFDA’s target sectors (e.g. agriculture and food security, logistics support, shelter and settlements) as well as its focus on disaster risk management (DRM); disaster risk reduction; and disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.

Responsibilities:
  • Supporting pre-trip research, planning, and preparation to support execution of the trip 
  • Advising on specific stakeholders in the private, public, and civil society sectors who should be interviewed and consulted as part of the activity.
  • Supporting the Team by overseeing the execution of travel and fieldwork logistics, including developing meeting schedules, booking in-person meetings, and organizing transportation.
  • Contributing to ideation around role and opportunities for private sector engagement in Disaster Preparedness and Disaster Risk Reduction in Indonesia
  • Participating in all field-based activities and preparing interview reports/partner profiles, as directed by the Team Leader.
  • Contributing to the development and submission of all deliverables as directed by the Team Leader.
  • Conducting any requested follow-up activities, as directed by the Team Leader.
Qualifications:
  • Networks and contacts across business sectors, insights to ensure that the team meets with the right partners/individuals, and the relationships needed to schedule meetings with key partners 
  • Good sense of travel and logistics in Jakarta, as well as other provinces of Indonesia, (best ways to get around, etc.)
  • Experience supporting collaborative efforts between the public and private sector
  • Experience working with both the business and humanitarian communities and experience in USAID private sector development or competitiveness projects a plus.
  • Ability to independently manage interviews as needed
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English
  • Effective communicator
  • Eligibility to work in Indonesia
